Top Trend: Maxi Dresses
Sonia Zmihi,
This summer MAXImise the impact and minimize the effort with a flowing maxi dress. When the temperatures start to rise, no woman on earth will deny that comfort and easiness are the fashion order of the day.
Beautiful morning, noon and night, floor-sweeping dresses are among the most versatile and practical garments in a woman’s closet. The proof is that, whether you’re on the lookout for the perfect outfit for your cousin’s wedding, want to give your next beach holiday in Ibiza an extra hippy-chic vibe, or plan on attending a music festival, you will never go wrong with a maxi dress. And if you’re into boho and feminine styles, we’ve got a feeling you’re just going to love this season’s take on the wardrobe essential.
To ensure that you are wearing yours in the most stylish way, we scoured the Spring/Summer 2017 runway shows and selected the best designer maxis on the market.

Acne Studios Erika Cavalli Tory Burch
Acne Studios was one that immediately popped up on our radar. We couldn’t miss Jonny Johansson’s serie of flowing ethnic dresses. The designer emphasized the breezy stapple by adding extra long foulards, worn over the shoulder and made out of the most gorgeous fabrics, giving a Saharian princess feel to the silhouettes. Strongly inspired by Middle Eastern countries and the current refugee crisis that is all over the newspaper, Johansson’s creations use playful patchworks and a beautiful color palette to echo a more serious theme. At Erika Cavalli, we spotted a great graphic floor length tube dress. Its nude shade is contrasted by two oversized burgundy pockets on the sides. For a romantic take, we suggest you get inspired by Tory Burch’s printed look. Accessorized with this season’s it bag, the woven basket, this maxi orange gown is the perfect choice for your round of summer weddings.

Blugirl Roberto Cavalli Alexis Mabille
Some other options include a Blugirl design that is both hippie and hype. The colorful embroderies and pompom give a vibrant bohemian twist to the all black look. Now for a remake of Beyonce (and if you too woke up flawless), pick Roberto Cavalli’s Pink Lemonade dress and accessorize it with some hot sauce in your bag. To see this look in action check out Queen Bey strolling around with a baseball bat in a bright yellow Cavalli ruffled dress – in her “Hold Up” video clip. Finally, for a candid and ethereal look, check out Alexis Mabille’s structural maxi composition. We are pretty sure you will turn more than just one head in this voluminous off-the-shoulder white confection.
So nix the minis and relax in a maxi dress, comforted in the knowledge that you both look and feel fabulous.
