Top Trend: Doll
Eleonore Vagh Weinmann,
When you think of dolls, it’s impossible not to have a flashback to a childhood brimming with fun filled hours spent playing with a favorite plastic best-friend. She had a name, a story, and lots of crazy adventures but most importantly she had the MOST fashionable closet. It was filled with bags in all shapes and colors, unforgettable outfits and all types of accessories. She was the little princess of the bedroom and the secret dream for many of us was to be just like her, from head to toe.
This season it was almost as if some of those dolls, and the exaggerated outfits that came with her, were brought to life by fashion designers. But now she is all grown up and ready to make dreams come true.
- Annakiki
- Pam Hogg
- Delpozo
Relive your childhood birthday fantasy in this Annakiki Barbie dress. It looks perfectly designed for sitting on top of a frosted cake. No need to count calories this time, you’ll look delectable! As for Pam Hogg, she designed a collection to celebrate strong women. Her life sized doll look comes in the form of a post-punk style seen in this light blue form-fitting catsuit adorned with golden ruffles. If you want to look like a rebellious fashion forward Raggedy Ann this Halloween season, we recommend this getup. And Audrey Hepburn could have gracefully worn this unique pepped-up peplum dress from Delpozo. It has everything that we love from fashionable dolls and iconic 50s muses reunited in one fabulous piece, but given a vibrant modern design twist.
- Isa Arfen
- Alexander McQueen
- Badgley Mischka
If you loved the previous denim on denim trend, this more casual outfit from Isa Arfen will be the perfect addition to your closet. We adore the oversized top and the exaggerated beret style hat, which added a modern Parisian slant to the ensemble. Looking for a retro 80s power cocktail outfit, this Alexander McQueen look does the trick perfectly. The outfit’s broad ruffled shoulders and skirt have a fun and festive feel to them. Come on Barbie, let’s go party!
Our final look for this top trend article is very glamourous. For some I am sure it brings to mind the Bratz’s Cloe doll’s “Winter Ball Beauty Christmas” outfit. But in the hands of Badgley Mischka, this gown will make you look like a real princess heading to the ball. Just remember that your carriage will turn into a pumpkin after midnight!
